Wanita F. Cox 71, of Frankfort, died at 12:16 p.m. April 30, 2016 at her home. Born June 24, 1944 in Somerset, KY to the late Elden & Stella May (Gossard) Floyd. She married Donnie Cox on July 16, 1960 in Frankfort and he preceded her in death on August 25, 2014. Mrs. Cox attended Frankfort Schools after moving here from Kentucky in the early 1950’s. She worked in housekeeping for Holiday Inn in Lebanon and Frankfort, retiring in 2003. Wanita enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her family.
Visitation and Services
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 3, 2016 from 5-7 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort, IN. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the funeral home. Private family burial will be in Bunnell Cemetery.

2 Sons: Curtis Eugene (Companion, Dale Ray Adams) Cox of Festus, MS, Russell Lee (Companion, CJ Fife) Cox of Frankfort, 3 Daughters: Wilma Jean (Wesley) Winter of Frankfort, Trish (Steve) Smith of Frankfort, Frances (Jason) Hall of Frankfort, 1 Brother: Coy Russell Floyd of Somerset, KY, 2 Sisters: Merley Wesley of Frankfort, Violet Levine of Somerset, KY, 17 Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Floyd and his wife Margaret Floyd & Johnny Floyd and his wife Shirley Floyd, a sister-in-law, Teresa Floyd and a daughter-in-law, Angel Cox.
Wanita was a good woman. I have known her since grade school. Was best friends with her daughter Frances. She is in a better place now with no pain. Glad I stopped by a couple weeks ago while I was up there and saw her. I will not be able to come, but will be thinking of you all.
