Russell Leo Meek

Russell Leo Meek 92 of Frankfort, IN, died at 5:47 p.m. April 9, 2011 at Clinton House Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born September 11, 1918 in Madison, Indiana to the late Floyd & Ethel (Carnine) Meek. He married M. Jeanette Winburn on August 4, 1940 in Scott County and she survives. Russell and Mary moved to Frankfort in October 2010 from Crothersville, Jackson County, IN. Mr. Meek was a Canaan High School graduate. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII. He was a carpenter then worked for Cummins Engine for 20 years, retiring in 1985. From 1963-1988 he served as a Pastor in various churches in Southern Indiana. Mr. Meek attended the Victory Chapel Church.

Visitation and Services

7 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at the Victory Chapel Church in Frankfort. Friends may visit from 4-7 p.m. prior to services on Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Gideons International with envelopes available at the church or Goodwin’s. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 13th at the Austin Cemetery in Austin, IN.

Wife: M. Jeanette Meek of Frankfort Daughter: Charlotte Baker of Indianapolis 2 Sons: James A. (Rachel) Meek of Frankfort and David L. Meek of Indianapolis 8 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren and 8 Great Great Grandchildren
