Ronald L. Devore

Ronald L. Devore 75 of rural Kirklin, IN, passed away at 4:48 p.m. Friday, September 3, 2010 at the St. Vincent Heart Center of Indiana in Indianapolis, IN. Born November 4, 1934 in Kokomo, IN to the late Merritt E. & Gertrude Devore. He married Judith Cassman on May 6, 1966 and she preceded him in death on May 27, 2009. Mr. Devore retired from the Union Carbide Company in Indianapolis after 28 years of service. He was currently employed as a Parts Driver for Andy Mohr Nissan in Indianapolis. He had also previously served as the Kirklin Town Marshall. A 1952 Graduate of Rossville High School he also served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Woodside Christian Church where he taught Sunday School and a member of the Vesta Masonic Lodge #136 in Jefferson, IN.

Visitation and Services

Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at the Goodwin Funeral Home in Frankfort, IN. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Tuesday, September 7, 2010 with Masonic Services at 7:30. Burial with military rites will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Lafayette. Memorials may be made to the Woodside Christian Church with envelopes at the funeral home.

    My condolences to the family. Although we only met Ron once, he seemed to be a well-respected member of the community, it is obvious he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
