Roberta Ann Scripture, 80, former Frankfort resident, died Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at home in Bedford, IN. Born on January 1, 1932 in Cutler, IN, the daughter of Noah Frank and Mary Olive (Swisher) Coulter. Her marriage of 55 years was to Robert E. Scripture on March 19, 1950. He preceded her in death in 2005. She grew up in Frankfort, IN and graduated from Frankfort High School in 1950. Robert and Roberta raised 3 children and moved to Indianapolis in 1966. Roberta attended nursing school at Ivy Tech and worked as an LPN for 15 years, retiring in 1995. She and her husband moved to Bedford, IN, in 2004 to be closer to their 2 daughters. “Bert” loved tending the flowers in her yard and entertaining family and friends, and was happy playing games or making puzzles anytime. She attended 2 churches in Bedford, the First Christian Church and the First Baptist Church.

Visitation and Services

Visitation is from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2012, at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home in Bedford, IN. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 19 at Goodwin Funeral Home, Frankfort, IN with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until the service. Rev. Bob Dailey will officiate. Burial will be at Bunnell Cemetery, Frankfort, IN. Memorial contributions can be made to the First Christian or the First Baptist Church, Bedford, IN.

Survivors include 3 children, William Scripture (Chin) of Farmington Hills, MI; Cheryl Ammon (Robin) of Bedford, IN and Mary Andrews (Steve) of Bedford, IN; 6 grandchildren, Rock Ammon of Bedford, IN, Kelly Ammon (Kevin Kieffer) of Brownsburg, IN, Robert Scripture (Colleen) of Highland, MI, Dion Scripture of Niantic, CT, Neal Andrews of Pittsburgh, PA and Garrett Andrews of Bedford, IN; 4 great-grandchildren, Haley Ammon, Logan Ammon, Amy Scripture and Hana Scripture; and 4 siblings, Carolyn Robertson of Frankfort, IN, Jean White of Colfax, IN , Larry Coulter (Kathy) of Lakeview, FL and Dianna Snapp (Larry) of Camden, IN; and several nieces and nephews.

    Dearest Bill, Cheryl and Mary,
    My deepest sympathy to you and your families in the passing of your Mother. I didn’t get to see her very often but when she did make the trip up to Frankfort and visited my parents I tried to get by to say hello. Please know I keep you all close in my heart during this difficult time.
