Richard Chris “Dick” Kenney Jr. 66 of Frankfort, IN, passed away July 26, 2011 at St. Vincent Hospice, Indianapolis, IN. Born August 26, 1944 in Concord, NH to the late Richard Chris & Ruth Annabel (Connor) Kenney. He married Deborah Ann Saczawa on July 28, 1984 and she survives. Dick was a 1962 graduate from Bristol, New Hampshire High School and attended New England College there from 1962-1963. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he served for six years. He worked as a plant chemist at both International Packings Corp. in New Hampshire for 17 years and at Federal Mogul in Frankfort for 27 years. He attended and was active in St. Mary’s Church in Frankfort. A man of great faith, he inspired others to a deeper relationship with God. He was Eucharistic minister at mass and for the home-bound and had a great love for Jesus and Jesus’ mother, Mary. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Dick worked as a Blue Ridge Elementary School volunteer in his wife’s classroom. A great baker, he often made treats for the children and was most famous for his apple and pecan pie and all types of cookies. An avid gardener, he grew beautiful flowers, especially roses and vegetables. Dick was Debby’s heaven on earth, the love of her life and they treasured their vacations in TN. Dick and his wife would like to thank everyone for all the kindnesses extended to them during Dick’s illness.

Visitation and Services

The rosary will be said for Dick at 5 p.m. with calling from 5-7 p.m. Friday, July 29, 2011 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 30th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery near the statue of Christ and by a tree. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Wife: Debby Kenney of Frankfort Sister: Judy Bucklin of Alexandria, NH Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceded by:

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Nancy Moulton.

    It was a great pleasure to have had the opportunity of getting to know Dick and you Debby. I am just sorry it was a short lives meeting with Dick. He is in good hands now and will suffer no more. May we all share our memories. I send my deepest condolences to you Debby. You are a wonderful, caring person.
