Ray J. Dearth 94, former Frankfort resident, died at 4:10 p.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Miller's Merry Manor, Tipton, IN. Born March 2, 1916 in Frankfort, IN to the late Ray & Fern (Buser) Dearth. Mr. Dearth lived in Okeechobee, FL, Frankfort, IN and Tipton, IN. He was a 1934 graduate of Tipton High School and received his BS Degree in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served from March 15, 1941 to December 19, 1946. He attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, and received the Silver Star and Purple Heart. Mr. Dearth retired on July 31, 1976 after 20 years at Occidental Corp. His memberships included, Elks Lodge, Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Shrine, American Legion and the VFW.
