There is a study published somewhere that states the national average age of a police officer when they pass is age 58. That seems so young yet even Randy passed before that point. I salute the man and his service to his community, friends and family. Randy gave to all from such a very kind soul. I won’t be able to attend, but place a white carnation and stand a corner in memory for me, please.

Colleen and family: Our thoughts and prayers are certainly with you and will continue to be as you go through the next several days and months…we will be lifting you up and petitioning our Heavenly Father to sustain you with His great loving kindness and comfort. We, too, know what a shock the loss of a loved one can be, but as we say…we have not Lost…we Know just where they are and in whose hands. We KNOW that heaven is real and that when this life is ended on earth, that eyes are opened, new bodies are given and that spirit goes on in the heavenly realm. Praying for you…Praise YOU God for blessing us all, In Jesus’ Name. Amen

From the time we met as little kids on Center Drive in the early sixties right through our high school years, Randy and I were best friends. Randy’s mom used to say that we were each others skin. We rode the school bus together, learned to ride bikes together, then came learning to pop wheelies on our bikes, Randy could ride a wheelie all the way down Center Drive. We ran around the neighborhood bothering all the neighbors together, developed our basketball and baseball skills together, went fishing, hunting and camping together, learned to swim together, I could go on and on, we did everything together. I probably spent more time at McKinzie’s house than my own, three doors down on Center Drive. Those days when Randy and Marianne and Timmy and I would pile into that giant Pontiac with Bonnie and Tinker and go out to Art’s drive in for burgers, it was so much fun, I’ll never forget it. I always thought that someday, maybe in our golden years we would get back together and do all those things all over again. I would say that I’m praying for Randy and I am and I will but I don’t need to because Randy’s in the best possible place now and I know he’s putting in a good word for me. My thoughts are with Marianne and Timmy and Randy’s family who I never met. Bonnie was right… each others skin.
