Odette was a familiar face to me throughout my childhood. I grew up in the Shelley home on College Street just north of the Colfax American Legion where Odette was the Manager and Bartender. I would see her often walking to the Legion to open for the day. I recall fondly one specific time there with Maurice, Rosie, Pat, and Buelah Cripe. Feeling like a big man, I got to order my first cocktail. Odette made that cocktail – a Shirley Temple. The Shelley family extend their sincerest condolences.

A beautiful person left us. Unfortunately, we would have liked to see it more often the distance between our countries and life has decided otherwise. We share this painful moment and your pain.

    Dear Arroyo Family,
I was blessed to have known your mom & dad back in Colfax when they were active at the legion with Joe Lenehan & through our kids growing up together. I always thought her being French made her such a sophisticated lady. Then recently I was reunited with her at WM when I visited as a St Mary’s Ladies of Charity & a Communion Minister. I was sure she knew me when we talked about Colfax & Legion & Miller’s. I am sure you will miss her & send sympathy prayers your way. But with the lovely mass today & with faith celebrate her life & blessing of being Home in Heaven now. Grateful to have known her.
God Bless, Suilon, Libbi, Lorra, Lanna, Lissa & Family

To Cindy and the family, I am so sorry for your loss. It seems like yesterday that I saw your mom and dad driving together in the Chevy Blazer through Colfax. Your mother was a beautiful lady that appeared small in stature inside that Blazer next to your dad. They both seem so happy together. Excellent job on the video that was a wonderful tribute to your mom!
Keep smiling through the next chapter of your lives. My condolences to each of you,
    Rick Edmondson

I know it has been two years and I haven’t stopped thinking about her since. She is all that is in my mind everyday from when I wake up until I go to sleep. I have been trying to move on from the pain, because I know it’s the best thing I can do. I won’t forget her, she is my favorite person and I am still so sad that she left my life, I still have the memorial card and photos of her. I wish I taken the opportunity to say goodbye. I remember my dad Cassell Turner asking me if I wanted to visit her I said no for whatever reason and she died a few weeks later, I blame myself for the regret I still have it was my biggest regret. I have learned to not take time for granted and to spent every moment I can talking to my loved ones because one day it’s going to be to late. She was the best great-grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, and even friend anyone could ask for.

I remember the memories and I can’t even look at a clock without thinking of her. I always feel asleep next to her, with her clock ticking. I remember falling asleep to the ticks and sometimes counting them. I remember when I heard she was in the hospital I broke down in tears until I heard that she was okay and it was because of blood sugar. I love her dearly and I don’t think I can let go even though I think it’s the best option.
