Nellie Mae Cockrum Cook

Nellie Mae Cockrum Cook 99 of Frankfort, IN, died at 7:34 p.m. May 11, 2011 at St. Vincent Frankfort Hospital. Born July 6, 1911 in Jefferson City, Tennessee to the late Charles & Betty (James) Gilbert. She married William Cockrum on December 6, 1930 in Tennessee and he died in 1973. She then married Artie Cook in 1984 in Delphi and he died in 2007. Mrs. Cook attended school in Tennessee and moved to Frankfort in 1947. A housewife, she also worked for 20 years in dietary at the Clinton County Hospital and worked in the kitchen at the Moose Lodge. She attended the Frankfort Bible Holiness Church and was a member of the Lebanon Baptist Church in Tennessee. Among her many interests were reading the bible, sewing and spending time with her family. She would have been 100 this July.

Visitation and Services

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2011 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday, May 15th from 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park. Mark Mowery will officiate. Memorial donations may be made to the Bible Holiness Church, 1947 W. Barner St., Frankfort, IN 46041. Envelopes will be available.

3 Daughters: Virginia (John) Howe of Frankfort, Margaret Ashlock of Frankfort and Billie Emery of Frankfort 1 Son: William Mike Cockrum of Frankfort 1 Step Son: Jay (Viola) Cook of Tahlequah, OK 2 Step Daughters: Ella (Dave) Quesenberry of Maynardville, TN and Artie Lee Carlson of Monon, IN 18 Grandchildren, 30 Great Grandchildren and 30 Great Great Grandchildren

Preceded in death by son, Harold Cockrum, 3 sons in law, Jerry Emery, Bill Moore and Roy Ashlock, step son, Gerald Cook, grandson, Jeff Emery, great grandson, Mark Carr, 5 brothers and 5 sisters.
