    My Grandma Buck

    Knew this day would come
    Hard to say goodbye
    Feeling a bit numb
    Still tears in one’s eyes

    Always a listening ear
    No judgement ever passed
The first one to give a cheer
    Teachings will always last

Heart pure and made of gold
    Always putting others first
    Persistence very bold
    Wittiness came in bursts

    Soul unlike no other
    Beauty inside and out
    To many a mother
    Your love never a doubt

Lived life with so much drive
    Legacy will live on
    Touched so many lives
    Memories never gone.

Mary Lou Buck was a beautiful person. We will miss her. We loved her smile!
Lesley (Kuhn/Doane) was one of her cadet teachers. Lesley loved Mrs. Buck and encouraged her to be a teacher. Because of Mary Lou, she has become an excellent teacher (English and reading-6th & 7th grade). Doug enjoyed Mrs. Buck too!
We have so many memories with Mrs. Buck. We are so proud that Jaci and Sam were married, and now we also have Marlee. And now we have an extended family with Jeri & Nelson, Katie & John and the rest of the family.
    We are blessed!

    Nelson & Jeri,
So sorry to read about your mom. She was a real sweetie and truly a class act. Whenever I pick up a book to read I think of her. All of you take care. Carol & Kevin

I will always have a special place in my heart for Mrs. Buck. She genuinely cared for her students, fostered a love of learning, and helped them to follow their dreams. I only hope that I can have the same effect on my students.

I also had the pleasure of knowing her as “Grandma Buck.” I will never forget the way she giggled at Sam’s silly comments, or the way her eyes sparkled when she held Marlee.

Jeri Jo, Jaci, Katy, Nelson and families, your mom/grandma was a true role model to so many! She encouraged so many to love reading and to go on to become great teachers. I will never forget our many evenings together at the Common Ground and her being right next door whenever I needed someone to listen or vent to or a shoulder to lean on. She shared all of you wonderful people with me and I have great memories of summer days in the pool or shopping or just talking. She was a wonderful person and I am proud to have been part of her life. Blessing will fall from her arms in heaven down to you here on earth! Love you all.
