Mary Jane Lane Hopp

Mary Jane Lane Hopp 90 of Frankfort, IN, died at 12:30 p.m. August 31, 2012 at her home. Born January 16, 1922 in Elizaville, IN to the late Laurel E. & Eva (Smith) Swope. She married Francis “Shady” Lane on November 9, 1940 in Elizaville and he preceded her in death on November 4, 1992. She then married George Hopp on December 3, 1994 and he preceded her in death on September 19, 2011. Mrs. Hopp was a 1940 graduate of Kirklin High School. She lived in Elizaville until 1940 before moving to Frankfort. She worked at Mallory Controls and Peter Paul, retiring in 1972. She was a member of the Community Christian Church in Frankfort, Delta Gamma Delta Sorority, Women of the Moose, American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary.

Visitation and Services

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Tim Grasham will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 4th from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Association.

Daughter: Linda Alward of Cullman, Alabama Son: Robert W. (Connie) Lane Sr. of Frankfort Step Son: Gordon (wife: Carolyn)  Hopp of Indianapolis 3 Step Daughters: Marilyn (Wade) Nutter of Athens, Georgia, Deborah (Rick) Klawun of Jackson, TN and Cynthia (Todd) Brown of Brownsburg 18 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandsons.

Preceded in death by 2 sisters, Joan “Jody” Emmett and Jean Dieterle.
