Larry Gene Richie

Larry Gene Richie 70, or Frankfort, IN, died at 10:55 a.m. October 7, 2009 at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis from an auto accident in Carroll County. Born May 2, 1939 in Hazard, KY to Ezekiel & Josephine (Strong) Richie. He married Kay Henderson on February 1, 1969 and she survives. Mr. Richie moved to Frankfort in 1963. He worked at Peter Paul for 18 years and retired in 2005 from Frankfort Middle School where he worked for 18 years as a custodian. He also worked part time for Aaron's Taxi Service. He was a member of the Christ Memorial Temple in Lafayette.

Visitation and Services

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 12, 2009 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday, October 11, 2009 from 3-6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Survived by:

Wife: Kay Richie of Frankfort 2 Sons: Josh Richie at home and Kevin Richie of Lexington, KY Mother in Law: Mary Henderson of Frankfort, IN One nephew and several nieces survive.

Preceded by:

He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 1 sister.

    Though we drifted apart in the years, Uncle Larry was never far from my thoughts. He was the good one. The one I most admired and respected. He was never anything but kind and giving to us three girls and it was well known after the divorce that he was still our uncle. I hope God gives you peace in these next few days and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers! I will see you on Sunday!!
