Kurt Joseph Egelhaaf

Kurt Joseph Egelhaaf 82, of Frankfort, died November 5, 2010 at St. Vincent Hospice, Indianapolis. Born May 30, 1928 in Philadelphia, PA to Kurt Rudolph Egelhaaf and Claire (Logan) Eldridge. He married Jain McCormick on June 23, 1956 in East Chicago, IN. Mr. Egelhaaf spent the first 23 years of his life in San Bernardino, CA where he attended San Bernardino High School and Valley College. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. Following his military service he received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mexico City College and a Master of Arts degree from Loyola University. He was a junior high teacher at Berkley School District in Berkley, IL. He taught for 30 years retiring in 1989. Mr. Egelhaaf was a member of the Frankfort Rotary Club and First Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

Visitation and Services

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 20, 2010 at the Wesley Manor Chapel. Pastor Tom Jameson will officiate. Memorial donations may be made to Wesley Manor or Clinton County Humane Society. Envelopes will be available.

Wife: Jain Egelhaaf of Frankfort Daughter: Susan Lukow of Raleigh, NC Son: Kurt John (Rose) Egelhaaf of St. Joseph, MI Grandsons: Rudy and Zeke Lukow, and Kurt and Eric Egelhaaf

Preceded by:

He was preceded in death by his sister, Jeanne Beasley, brother, Paul Egelhaaf and his parents.

    John, Rose, Kurt and Eric,
    I am so sorry to hear about your Dad and Grandpa. He will be very missed. Remember the good times and have faith he is in a better place. I am thinking about and praying for all of you.
