Karen R. Eads

Karen R. (Pearcy) Eads 68 of Frankfort graciously went home to be with her Father in Heaven at 9:11 p.m. on November 11, 2010. She was surrounded by her loving soul mate, Donald Eads, her daughters, sons, grandchildren, sisters, and her mother. Karen was born December 6, 1941 in Lebanon, IN to Karl Edward & Ruth Juanita (Harmon) Pearcy. She married her soul mate, Donald Joseph Eads in Palestine, IL on August 9, 1963 and he survives. Mrs. Eads worked at Peter Paul Cadbury for over 19 years and Federal Mogul for 23 years, retiring in 2007. She dedicated her life to her family and friends. She loved all children and would read to them. She loved to crochet for her grandchildren and others. A most loving wife, mother and grandmother, she and her husband never turned away a stranger and taught her children to dedicate their lives to the spouses and children and to respect all people. She had compassion for underprivileged children in the community. Her hobbies included reading, taking care of her grandchildren and trying new endeavors. She was especially fond of all animals & wildlife.

Visitation and Services

Service will be 11 a.m. Monday, November 15, 2010 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday, November 14th from 3-5 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Whiteman Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Frankfort Library Children’s Department or Clinton County Cancer Fund, envelopes will be available.

Survived by:

Her two daughters, Kelly Groce of Indianapolis and Melody Gandy of Frankfort, who were her caregivers through her battle with ovarian cancer. Also, her sons, Blaine (Jennifer) Eads of Carmel, Brian (Michelle) Eads of Zionsville and Rick (Dawn) Eads of Michigantown. She had 12 grandchildren, Brandon Bell, Kasey Howe, Megan Reifel Woodall, Kaylin and Josie Gandy, Daniel and Hannah Eads, Cameron and Carson Eads, and Ryan, Tyler and Nicholas Eads. 8 great grandchildren, Izayah and Izabellah Reifel, whom she helped raise as well as, Luca, Josie, Sarah Woodall and Rylee, Maggie and Avery Howe. Her mother, Ruth Pearcy of Frankfort, 4 sisters, Marsha Crose of Lafayette, Karla “Penny” Dirbas of Frankfort, Jane (Richard) Marslender of Texas, and Robin (Ronnie) Gunn of Texas, special niece, Marsha Charles and her faithful companion dog, Shelia also survive.

    My heart goes out to the whole Eads family. I am so sorry for your loss. I hope you can find comfort in knowing that your wife/mother/grandma/daughter/sister is no longer suffering or in pain. She is now at peace. Rest in Peace Karen.

    Karen was such an inspiration to us all…I will miss her always smiling, upbeat personality. She was certainly a special lady who will be greatly missed. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

    I am truly sorry about your loss. I’m sorry that I didn’t make it up to the funeral home. I just learned of your loss. Karen was a wonderful lady. She will truly be missed.

    Don and family, although I no longer live in Frankfort, I do keep “in touch” online. I was saddened to read of Karen’s passing. I will always remember you both as very kind neighbors. Please accept my deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers.
