Joy Hoyer Thomas 83, of Rural Frankfort, IN, died at 3:15 a.m. August 31, 2009 at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, IN. Born February 16, 1926 in Stewardson, IL, to William J. & Nella (Elliott) Hoyer. She married Charles E. Thomas on March 7, 1958 and he preceded her in death on June 3, 2006. Mrs. Thomas was a longtime Clinton County resident, attending Frankfort High School. She was clerk and bookkeeper for Bon Merritt Drug Store for 46 years, retiring in 1989. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Frankfort Quilt Guild and a former member of Frankfort Country Club, where she had a hole in one and Washington Township Home Ec. Club. She was an avid sports fan, reader, and photographer and her family was most important to her.
Visitation and Services
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, September 3rd at Goodwin Funeral Home. Ed Pearson will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 2nd from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church or Frankfort Public Library, envelopes will be available.

Daughter: Jan Elizabeth (companion Eric Prenevau) Thomas of Lake Orion, MI Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, Guy, Bill, Raymond and Jim Hoyer, 4 sisters, Ruth Evers, June Jones, Rosalie Henning and Jane Alice Hoyer.
