John William Myers

John William Myers 85, of Frankfort, IN, died at 3:33 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2010 at his home, surrounded by his family. Born May 27, 1924 in Clinton County to the late Cloyd & Elsie (Baker) Myers. He married Patsy J. Lucas on November 27, 1949 at the Presbyterian Church in Frankfort. Mr. Myers was a Sheridan High School graduate, and was on the first Sheridan High School football team to win a state championship. He grew up and lived in Terhune, IN for 25 years before moving to Frankfort. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was staff sergeant, serving in the European Theatre during WWII. He worked at Agmax for 28 years, retiring in July of 1987. Mr. Myers was a member of the Michigantown Christian Church, Clinton #56 Masonic Lodge, and the American Legion.

Visitation and Services

Services will be 12 Noon, Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Bob Woods will officiate. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Green Lawn Mausoleum. Memorial donations may be made to the Guardian Angel Hospice Foundation, 412 W. Sycamore St., Kokomo, IN  46901 or Michigantown Christian Church, 108 W. Second St., Michigantown, IN  46057. Envelopes will be available.

    To the Myers Family – Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time. Mom (Helen Stroup) will be very sad to hear of his passing. After my father died he was very good to her and helped with so many things. She always thought she could call upon him and your mother and it was a source of comfort to our family.

    So sorry to hear of John’s passing. I remember when our big weekly outing was dinner at Wendy’s and we would meet John and Pat there quite often and get caught up on all the latest. Take care and know that we all thought he was a great man. Carol
