John P. Kelley

John P. Kelley 85, of Frankfort, IN, died 5:15 p.m. Sunday, August 16, 2009 at Wesley Manor. He was born July 30, 1924 in Frankfort, IN, to the late Frank W. & Jennie R. (Lung) Kelley. He married Betty A. McIntosh on February 20, 1944 at the Lafayette Methodist Parsonage and she survives. Mr. Kelley was a 1943 graduate of Frankfort High School. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during WWII. He retired from Coca Cola after 40 years of service. He was a member of the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church and a former member at the Trinity United Methodist Church for over 50 years. He was a lifetime member of the Elks, where he was exalted ruler in 1964-1965 and 1977-1978, Moose Lodge, VFW, and a 50 year member of the American Legion. Mr. Kelley served on the Utility Board for 7 years, and the Frankfort City Council for 3 terms.

Visitation and Services

Services 2 p.m. Thursday, August 20, 2009 at the Wesley Manor Chapel. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 19, 2009 from 5-7 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home and from 1-2 p.m. Thursday prior to the service at the Wesley Manor chapel. Entombment with military honors will be in Greenlawn Mausoleum. Donations in memory of Mr. Kelley may be made to the Clinton County Cancer Fund, envelopes will be available.

Wife: Betty A. Kelley of Frankfort, IN 2 Sons: Michael L. (Diana) Kelley of Frankfort, IN and Timothy J. (Dawn) Kelley of Frankfort, IN 3 Grandchildren: Eric M. (Annette) Kelley, Erin L. (Josh) Swinford and Joseph P. Kelley 8 Great Grandchildren: Madeline, Cameron, Patrick, Jacob and Elizabeth Swinford, John, James and Dekota Kelley

He was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Carl, Cleo, Keith, Rolland and Paul Kelley, one sister, Martha Crampton.
