Jimmie M. Scott 72, of Mulberry, died at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Carle Foundation Memorial Hospital, Urbana, IL.  Born September 2, 1942 in Spencer, Indiana to Francis Merrill & Marcella Diane (Scott) Scott.  He married Joyce Randolph on June 18, 1966 in Marion, Indiana and she survives.  Mr. Scott attended Oak Hill High School in Grant County, Indiana. A was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He had lived in Marion and Sweetser, Indiana, and lived the past 35 years in Mulberry. He retired from the Dana Corporation in Marion, Indiana and then retired from Caterpillar in Lafayette. Jimmie was a Ham Radio Operator, a member of the Civil Air Patrol, a former member of the Mulberry Town Board and an avid Hot Rod Enthusiast.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 7, 2015 from 4-7 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 8th at the funeral home. Pastor Gregg Davis will officiate. Prior to the burial in Grant Memorial Park, Marion, Indiana, there will be a visitation from 2:30-3:30 p.m. at the Cemetery Chapel.

Wife: Joyce Scott of Mulberry, 2 Sons: Jim (Mary) Scott of Frankfort, Jay (Michelle) Scott of Lafayette, 2 Sisters: Cheryl (Jim) Mendelhall of Las Vegas, NV, Deborah Fish of Sarasota, FL and 5 Grandchildren, Blake, Tyler, Brionna, Joshua and Alaena and a Great Grandchild, Broly.

    I worked with Jimmie at Cat. I really enjoyed our time and conversations. He was a very good man and I am sorry to hear of his death. I was unable to make it to the funeral or visitation. When I last spoke to him, it sounded like he was really enjoying his retirement. God bless you in your time of loss.
