James W. Likens

James W. Likens 86 of Frankfort, IN, died at 8:15 p.m. July 6, 2010 at his home. Born October 12, 1923 in Lebanon, IN to the late Leroy and Ivy (Doty) Likens. He married Bertha Garrett on December 10, 1942 in Lebanon and she survives. Mr. Likens attended Lebanon High School. He worked for the railroad for 11 years, Alcoa for 30 years, retiring in 1984. He also sheared sheep. Mr. Likens formerly attended Faith Baptist Church. He was a member of Eagles Lodge for 32 years and enjoyed fishing, shooting pool and traveling.

Visitation and Services

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, July 9th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery.

Wife: Bertha Likens of Frankfort 3 Daughters: Janet Boller of Colfax, Erma (Jack) Kelly of Moran and Mary Birge of Frankfort 1 Brother: Lester Likens of California 11 Grandchildren and 32 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great Great Grandchildren

He was preceded in death by and infant daughter, Joyce, brother, Bernard Likens and sister, Jesse Abbott.
