You do not know me as I work in Peoria, IL. I met your husband one time and he and I have worked together over the phone many times. I can tell you from the short time I have known him and just by conversations we have had that he was an amazing and fun guy. I thought very highly of him, and I was stunned to hear the news. I met David while I was helping the Commercial Loan department at Regions, during a busy time. From day one, he was kind and helped me get acquainted with the flow of the business. I felt from the beginning that I could ask him anything and he would always be very willing to help. David and I would talk about his sons’ baseball and my daughter’s softball. He always had a smile and was willing to lend a hand. He will be missed tremendously.

  42. Sarah Robey October 27, 2009 at 7:20 pm

    Dear Joseph family,
What a great guy David was! He was a joy to work with and a pleasure to wait on when he walked through the doors of Farm Bureau Insurance. We always exchanged stories about our boys and what they were up to. He was so proud of his family. He was the only person I would deal with when we bought a vehicle from Defords. I knew I could trust him to treat us right. And he did. My heart aches for his family and the whole community as we mourn his loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

  45. Jim Oesterling October 27, 2009 at 10:37 pm

Thinking of you and the boys and all your family during this difficult time.

  60. Jeff Davis October 28, 2009 at 6:21 pm

I worked with Dave at The Farmers Bank years ago. When he left for Farm Bureau I followed
him as a customer. When he went to Deford we established a great relationship between
lender and finance manager. He was helpful and just fun to talk to. Although I had not
spoken to him in some time, this sad news was a terrible shock. My thoughts and prayers
are with the entire Joseph family.

  61. Patti Kidwell October 28, 2009 at 7:38 pm

  63. Kathy & John McGraw October 29, 2009 at 12:41 pm

All of the McGraw siblings along with John and myself are in such shock and sorrow. We are very sad and tears flow. Everybody liked David and we just smile everytime we think about his hanging around our family at our home on Mulberry Jefferson or the really nice visits I would have with him about the new house he was building for Renee and the boys. David captivated the entire Clinton/CP community. Thank you, David. Our prayers are with you, Renee, Duane & Bonnie, Dana & Pat and Stacy and Kyle and families. We will miss him so much!

    Bonnie, Duane and family,
Was so sad to hear of your loss…..he had your great smile Duane! Never had the pleasure of meeting him, but from the other stories I read he sounds like a great guy and you both being his parents how could he not be! Stacy, I send my love and prayers to you and Mark and of course to the boys and his wife. GOD needed him to do his work so he is in great hands but know he will be deeply missed by everyone. Know that GOD is ALWAYS there when you need him and will take good care of David.
My sincere prayers and love to you all,
    Lynn Bowen Hale

  66. Kim Pletch October 29, 2009 at 7:49 pm

I had a lot of fun with David when we were in high school and college, but as we became “grownups” I ran into him less often. But when I did see him, he was always in a great mood. He’d talk about the boys and 4-wheeling or sports or whatever they were up to at the time. What a proud dad he was! David was one of those people that you really enjoyed seeing and catching up with. To the family and especially Renee and the boys…my thoughts and prayers are with you during this sad time.

  67. Tammy (Rose) Kniess October 30, 2009 at 1:19 pm

I live in Kingsport, TN. I had talked with David on several occasions in reference to some business he was handling for our company with Regions. I must say he was the most personable individual I have ever talked to. My sympathy to the entire family. God will bring you the comfort you need in the days to come.
