Cleo and I go back to the early ’50’s at Owen Twp. Junior High when we were on the Blue Devils basketball team together. At Owen at the end of the season, the eighth grade team members chose teams for a school tournament from any boys, 5th thru 8th grade, that wanted to participate. Cleo chose me as a 7th grader, to be on his team. Two years earlier, Cleo’s brother Fred had chosen me as a 5th grader, so I had played for two of the five Woodruff brothers. Cleo’s family later moved to Frankfort so we didn’t see each other as often, but we would always reminisce about our Owen Twp days when our paths crossed. Cleo will be missed, thoughts and prayers to the family.

Uncle Cleo was one if the best people I ever knew. When it came to kindness and class, he had very little competition. He is already greatly missed.

I just found out about Uncle Cleo’s passing. So sorry we will not be able to attend. We are returning from Florida and will be on the road most of the day Friday. As a kid I remember Uncle Cleo would come to our house and take on anyone in Ping Pong. I’m guessing he’d just gotten out of the Army. The best part of playing was the table barely fit into the room. Knowledge of the room space often overcame age and skill.
