Christine Snyder, age 80, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2020 surrounded by a loving extended family. She was born October 26th, 1939 in Monticello KY, daughter of Elza & Clara Martin (preceded in death in 1970 & 2010), twin sister of Ilene White (preceded in death in 2006), and loving sister of Donnie Joe Martin (1969-Vietnam), Edwin Martin (1997), Tony Martin (2017), and surviving siblings Midge Smith, Lou Sellers, Peggy Day, Gloria Clinger, Junior Martin, & Ruth Matthews.
At age 11, Elza & Clara moved Christine and their family from KY to Michigantown, Indiana where the family lived and worked on a farm. At 21 she met Ron “Ronnie” Snyder (preceded in death in 1982) at a gas station, where after filling her tank he pursued her and within a year they were married on March 2nd, 1962. Moving to Frankfort Indiana, they raised 5 surviving children Ronald T. Snyder, Rhonda B. Haan, Larry D. Snyder, Amy L. Snyder and Jody S. Allen.
Christine was a loving and devoted grandmother to 5 grandchildren and aunt to 50+ nieces and nephews. She enjoyed Yahtzee and puzzles and her fondest memories were the large family gatherings, or late-night summer evenings she spent on the porch with Ronnie and any number of visiting siblings. She was a selfless person who always put others first. She spent her later years living with Ilene and then Midge, which reunited a tight relationship between the sisters.

Our condolences to you all during this time of loss. I have so many memories of Aunt Christine and Uncle Ronny during my lifetime. I remember when they got married. I was little but remember the time frame. Watched as they grew their family. Your Mom was a good and gentle woman. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you all during this time. Take care and lots of love from us and Katy, Colin and Noah Boyd.
