Charles R. “CJ” Johnson

Charles R. “CJ” Johnson, 83, lifelong Kirklin resident, died October 18, 2023 at Mulberry Health.  He was born July 1, 1940 in Lebanon, Ind. to Clyde C. & Thelma (Evans) Johnson.  He married Patrice E. Price Johnson on April 26, 1968 and she survives.

Charlie was a 1958 graduate of Kirklin High School and attended Indiana Business College for 2 years.  He proudly served 6 years in the National Guard.  He was a farmer and had worked for Allisons and retired from Rolls Royce in Indianapolis.  Charlie was a member of the Kirklin American Legion Post 310.  He was an avid squirrel hunter and fisherman.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be Monday, October 23, 2023 from 1-3 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Graveside services will follow the visitation at Oak Hill Cemetery, Kirklin, with Phil Lewis officiating. Memorials may be made to the Kirklin American Legion, with envelopes available at the funeral home.

Wife: Patrice E. Johnson of Frankfort, Son: Brian S. (Kate) Johnson of Indianapolis, Daughter: Lynn (David) Peterson of Goshen, Sister: Kay Johnson of Sheridan, 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a brother

Preceded by:

his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Andrew R. Johnson in 2020.

    So sorry for your loss. It was always fun cutting his hair and hearing his hunting stories. And mushroom hunting.
