Bob J. Pierce, 96, a former Frankfort resident, died at 9:44 p.m. Monday, January 22, 2018 at his home in Speedway, Ind. He was born December 30, 1921 in Frankfort, Ind. to Roy I. & Elma (Binkley) Pierce. He married Eloise Volz on November 8, 1943 and she preceded him in death on September 18, 2009. Bob was a 1941 graduate of Frankfort High School and attended International Business College in Fort Wayne from 1941-1942. A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp from 1942-1945, he served in the South Pacific, attaining the rank of Master Sargent. Bob was a personnel manager for Allison Division of General Motors Corp., retiring in November of 1980. He was an active member of the John Knox Presbyterian Church and a former member of the school board in Speedway, Ind. Bob enjoyed golf, traveling, making stain glass and always had a dog.
Visitation and Services
Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2018 at Flanner Buchanan Speedway Chapel, 2950 N. High School Road, Indianapolis. No funeral services will be held. Private family burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Frankfort, Ind. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choosing.

Daughter: Carole A. Pierce of Palo Alto, Cal., 2 Sons: Michael K. (Diane) Pierce of Avon, Ind., R. Daniel (Jill) Pierce of Milwaukee, Wis., 2 Grandchildren: Jessica (Eugene) Lee of Redwood City, Cal. and Christopher (Evelyn) Pierce of Carmel, Ind.

So very sad to hear of your dad’s passing. I saw the obit in today’s paper and I thought of him all day today. He was a great man and I have always looked up to him as a fine example of a man. I will miss him. I am privileged to have known him.
