So very sorry to learn of Mrs. Thies’ passing. My condolences to Rodney and Becky, Randy and Lori, Robin and Carrel and Rita and their families.

Mrs. T was the very model of what a Mom should be, raising four very different children born in the very different times of the 50’s and 60’s. If you were fortunate to be a friend of her children, you were treated like family. The door was always open as was a seat at the supper table (the same table where often, Goose did his best to lead Rod and me through trigonometry homework).

While she spent most of her life in Indiana, you knew she was from Nebraska. Her summer trips back home with Wayne and the kids in the family truckster always seemed to recharge her spirits until the next one.

If Wayne was a combination of Fred Flintstone, Ward Cleaver and Ozzie Nelson—then Beverly was Wilma, June and Harriett rolled into one.

She was and will always be, one of a kind.
