Bernard S. ‘Bernie’ Parrish 93, of Frankfort, IN, died at 4:30 a.m. July 4, 2011 at the Clinton House Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born April 10, 1918 in Chebanse, IL to the late Rolland Vernon & Bernice (Dick) Parrish. His first marriage was to Gwendolyn Platt. He then married Gladys Darlene Thomas on July 14, 1956 in Decatur, IL and she survives. Mr. Parrish attended school in Illinois, lived in California, before moving here 6 years ago. A carpenter, he worked for Williams & Burroughs in California.  He was a carpenter for over 70 years.  He was of the Presbyterian Faith. Among his many interests were fishing, camping, carpentry, gardening and canning.

Visitation and Services

Services will be 2:30 Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park.

Wife: Darlene Parrish of Frankfort Daughter: Pamela Benner of Lafayette Brother: Lester (Norma) Parrish of Illinois Sister: Marjorie (Leo) Smith of Illinois 5 Grandchildren: Valerie Goodwin of Florida, Jeff Hoover of Florida, Melanie Stambaugh of Frankfort, Kyle Benner in the U.S. Army and Ashley Benner of Lafayette 3 Great Grandchildren

He was preceded in death by daughter, Sandy Hoover, brothers, Jack, Dwayne, Lawrence, Lloyd, Elmo and sister Inez.
