Barbara Sue Schimmel 77, of rural Frankfort, died at 8:16 a.m. July 4, 2011 at I.U. Health Arnett, Lafayette, IN. Born February 15, 1934 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Lewis Glen & Ethel Jane (Parnell) Sloan. She married William R. Schimmel on September 17, 1948 and he survives. Mrs. Schimmel moved to Frankfort at an early age and attended Frankfort Schools. She worked for Schimmel Trucking Company for 19 years. She also worked at Peter Paul & Zachary for 8 years. Mrs. Schimmel was a former member of the Eagles Auxiliary.

Visitation and Services

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday July, 8, 2011 at the Goodwin Funeral Home. Burial will be in Whiteman Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Riley Hospital Foundation, envelopes will be available.

Schimmel of rural Frankfort 2 Daughters: Debby (Ken) Doty of Crawfordsville and Pam (Jim) Goss of rural Frankfort 1 Sister: Nancy Fife of Frankfort 4 Grandchildren: Bryan (Jen) Doty-Wheaton, IL, Kevin Radcliff-Frankfort, IN, Durree (Mike) Berrisford-Crawfordsville, IN and Andrea (Ryan) Allen-Delphi, IN 6 Great Grandchildren: Clayton, Logan, Ethan, Kenadee, Owen and Aubree

Preceded by:

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter Sonja and a half brother, Charles Peters.

    My condolences to all the family …I am sorry to have to read this in the paper, as this was a sweet lady that I came to respect and really like …The whole family is good to any one they meet..Am sadden that this has happen to the family ..I do feel your grief and sorrow … Will say a prayer for all of you ….
