Barbara Jane Sutherland, 91, a lifelong Clinton County resident, died February 5, 2022 at Milner’s Healthcare, Rossville.  She was born December 15, 1930 in Milwaukee, WI to Herbert Lyle & Hazel Leora (Hardesty) Carpenter.  Her first marriage was to Earl Frank Best, she then married William Sutherland Jr., and they both preceded her in death.

Barbara was a 1948 graduate of Frankfort High School. She was self-employed in commercial cleaning for five years and in 1993 retired from National Seal after 22 years.  She was of the Christian Faith.  She was a member of the Genealogical Society, former member of the VFW Auxiliary and the U.A.W. Union.  Barbara enjoyed crafts, sewing, crocheting and knitting.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 12:30-2:30 p.m. Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Funeral services will begin at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park.

Survived by:

daughter: Sue A. (Tommy) Hack of Frankfort, 2 sons: Terry A. Sutherland of Lafayette and Brian L. Sutherland of Frankfort, sister: Nancy Stockdale of Denton, TX, 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 2 nieces.

Preceded by:

her parents, both husbands, sister, Patricia McPhearson, daughter, Cheryl Hudgens and 1 great-grandson.
