Arland M. Thacker

Arland Marcella (Farmer) Thacker, 90, of Frankfort, died April 8, 2020 at I.U. Health Arnett, Lafayette, Ind.  She was born August 24, 1929 in Harlan, Kentucky to Green & Mary (Hall) Farmer.  She married Jesse W. Thacker on September 20, 1946 in Frankfort and he preceded her in death on June 10, 2006.

Arland worked for National Cigar, Wesley Manor, and Clinton House.  She enjoyed drawing, reading and trips to New Orleans.

Visitation and Services

Private family services will be held. Burial will be in Bunnell Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Clinton County Cancer Fund or ALS.

5 Sons: Jimmy Barnett of California, Kelly L. Miller of Colfax, Shane Miller of Colfax, Mark W. Miller of Kentucky, Charles Miller of Louisiana, 3 Daughters: Teresa (Rob) Bales of Frankfort, Louwanna Barnett of Kansas, Sandy Barnett of Indianapolis, 2 Sisters: Elizabeth Farmer of Richmond, KY, Mary King of Richmond, KY, 2 Brothers: Harold Farmer of Texas, David Lynn Farmer of Winchester, KY, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Preceded by:

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Carl W. Miller, Daughter, April Davis, 2 brothers, Clyde & Green Jr. Farmer.

    I don’t know any of you “kids”. I did get to know April. I live in the Village at Wesley Manor and I was in the “lunch bunch” with your mom. She will be missed by our group so much. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

    To the family of Thacker. My name is Tylor I worked at Rent – a- Center for 2 yrs. She was a customer of mine and I always enjoyed going over whenever she needed help. We had so many talks. She was such a inspiration to me! This news destroyed me. I feel your her family in this time of need.

    Thoughts and prayers to the Family. I knew you kids when you were very young but don’t recall any of you. I worked with Marsha/Marcella at Wesley Manor for several years. Later we joined at the Wesley Manor retires lunch each month. Have missed see her these past few months. She was one of the sweetest ladies. She will surely be missed by all her retired co workers. Marsha you smile down on us and give us that wink. Hugs sweet lady

    So sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. I still remember the long conversations we had over the phone. She was such a nice person and was always concerned about her family that she loved so much. I also loved hearing her stories about back home in Kentucky. May your wonderful memories of her bring you comfort. Revelation 21:4
