I am glad to have the opportunity to meet and know Phil. His involvement with 4-H, starting the Micro Mini Tractor pulling project, got my son Jerod Howe and myself involved with the project and Micro Mini Tractor Pulling is my go to hobby, even after moving to Iowa. Phil was always there to help Jerod out with his 4-H project and even if we were competing against him in the National organization, he always made sure we had what we needed. Phil will be missed, not only in Clinton County, but across the country.

I am so sorry for your loss, I remember all the good times we had together. Playing cards so late at night all the kids were asleep in the other room. The kids were like brothers and sisters. The time Patrick got stuck in the mud in the field and I pulled him right out of his boots, watching the girls at gymnastics. The time you fell leaving our house and Jason was just a baby, scared us all but he never even woke up. So many good memories. Love all of you guys.

Phil was great guy and did a lot for others in 4-H, FFA, sports and community. Always had a smile and loved to have good time. I recall all the trips to look at sheep and going to shows. Good Lord brought another shepherd home. Prayers to the family. I’ll be having a turkey leg at state fair in his honor.

What a survivor you were sir. I have admired your grit and determination throughout the time I have known you. Always a friendly face willing to chat, always ready to help, hilarious stories we shared, great kids, the ups and downs we would talk about. Great memories, you had a unique place in our neighborhood. Rest easy my friend. Our love to your wife and family.
