Wilma L. Forney, 90, a former Rossville resident, died July 20, 2020 at Mulberry Health, Mulberry, Ind. She was born January 28, 1930 in Cambria, Indiana to William & Edna (Bible) Woodruff. She married Walter Max Forney on July 8, 1948 and he preceded her in death on February 2, 2008.
Wilma graduated from Rossville High School in 1948. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Frankfort. She had several job experiences but best remembered working as bookkeeper for Rockwood Manufacturing in Rossville for 14 years, Milner Healthcare for 8 years, Clinton County Auditor’s Office for many years and as secretary at First Baptist Church. She also worked as a greeter for Goodwin Funeral Home. Wilma and Walter also operated “Forney’s Roost” restaurant and ice cream stand in Rossville for many years. She was also very active in the Rossville Order of Eastern Star, holding many offices including Worthy Matron. She and Walter enjoyed many relationships made while in Eastern Star, Masonic Lodge and the Murat Shrine and they traveled regularly to attend regular meetings, special events, and served as delegates to national conventions.
The family wants to thank those who looked in on her throughout her journey with dementia until she could not be on her own, especially Gary Myers and Linda Lewis. The family wants to also thank the 100 Unit Staff at Mulberry Health Care. Their daily care for Mom never wavered as she continued her journey. She was always treated with the same dignity from her first day to her last. They are special people.

Facebook Twitter GooglePrayers and blessings to Wilma’s sons, Glenda and her brothers. I’ve known Wilma since I was a girl living just east of Cambria. She helped my mother when my younger sister was born. I rode the school bus with Glenda and some of the brothers. In later years, the 80’s and early 90’s, I was her hairdresser in Rossville and then at Garney’s in Frankfort. Wilma was always the same happy, kind soul that I enjoyed being around. May peace and joy fill your souls knowing Wilma is at home with Jesus. Beth Chezem Deboy

Facebook Twitter GoogleWilma lived a full loving life and she will be remembered by how she treated and loved others. May the knowledge that she is no longer suffering be a comfort to her family. I have known Wilma for a long time, since my mom worked for her in her restaurant. She was like another grandmother as I was growing up and she is tied to a lot of memories. Some of the best ones were of her and mom playing Yahtzee or cards and when I got older I played too. I was sorry to hear when she started to have issues, and I know how much mom was affected when Wilma started to have issues.
