William Leon Shelley Sr., 64 of Frankfort, Ind., died September 23, 2018 at Community South Hospital, Indianapolis, Ind.  Born February 6, 1954 in Clinton County, Ind. to William Ewell & Helen Louise (Gant) Shelley.

William attended Frankfort High School and later received his GED.  He was a painter and worked for the Frankfort Street Department.  He enjoyed writing poetry, painting, collecting, western movies, was a fan of Jeff Gordon, George Jones, and ACDC.  William enjoyed a full and fun life and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Friday, September 28, 2018 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery.

Survived by:

daughter: Keona (Joe Tackett) Stidham of Frankfort, son: William L. “Billy” Shelley Jr. of Frankfort, companion of 15 years: Susie “Sherie” Crews of Frankfort, 2 brothers: Ewell P. (Brenda) Shelley of Vidor, TX, Terry (Carol) Shelley of Hillisburg, 2 sisters: Madonna (Dave) Ritter of Brookston, Tonya (Mike) Heaton of Frankfort, 6 grandchildren: Eian Stidham, Evan Stidham, Kyree Shelley, Gage Shelley, Keedan & Jaycee Shelley.

Preceded by:

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Shelley, 3 sisters, Julia Mann, Brenda Cottrell and Pamela Shelley.

    Although it seems he was taken too soon, it was right on time as God always has perfect timing. Glad he accepted Jesus into his heart before passing. My condolences to you Keona, Billy, and the rest of the family/friends.
