Willard F. Miller

Willard F. Miller 95, of Kirklin, IN, departed this world to join his wife, Donna, to be with their Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis, IN. Willard was born to William and Naoma (Wilmoth) Miller in Harrisburg, IN on July 15, 1917. He graduated from Harrisburg Township High School in 1935. He moved to Indianapolis in July 1935 to work for Van Camp Hardware. Drafted into the U.S. Army in January 1942, he served during WWII in the European Theatre throughout North Africa, Sicily at Italy. Following WWII he moved to Kirklin and with his brother-in-law, William C. White, purchased the Kirklin Hardware Co. Willard married Donna K. Quick on February 5, 1949 in the Kirklin Methodist Church Manse. He and Donna made their home in Kirklin for over 63 years. Willard was an active member of the Kirklin Presbyterian Church where he served in many capacities, including church superintendent. Following closing the hardware in 1962, Willard worked for Moore-Costlow Elevator until his retirement in 1983. Willard was currently attending the Kirklin Christian Church. Willard and his wife enjoyed traveling with the Senior Resource Center on their many bus trips. One of his favorite hobbies was building scenery for his model trains. He will be remembered as a dedicated, loving husband and father.

Visitation and Services

Visiting will be from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, August 5, 2012 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, August 6th at the funeral home. Pastor Joe McAdams will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the Dorcas Society c/o Kirklin Christian Church, P.O. Box 186, Kirklin, IN 46050 or St. Vincent Foundation, 8402 Harcourt Road, Suite 210, Indianapolis, IN 46260.

Willard is survived by his children, Sue Ann (Jim) Krass of West Chester, OH and Kevin (Teresa) Miller of Midland, TX; grandchildren, Courtney Paulding ad Carrie (Ryan) Brookfield, Laura Quinn and Angie Schreiber; great grand children, Wesley Tamayo, Justin, Kyle and Tanner Schreiber and a sister, Wilma White.
