Wayne “Jay” Underwood, 66, Westfield, IN passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Hancock Regional Health in Greenfield, IN.  He was born on July 24, 1950 in Des Moines, IA to Dewayne Marvin & Lois Ann (Gruber) Underwood Messmore.  Jay was previously married to Beverly Belau who resides in Westfield, IN.

Jay retired in 2006 from AT&T where he worked as a Communications Technician.  He was a 1967 graduate of Lane Tech High School in Chicago and attended Wisconsin State University in Oshkosh, WI prior to receiving his Liberal Arts Degree from Indiana University in Kokomo.  Jay was a veteran of the US Army serving from 1970 to 1973.  His memberships included the Eagles Lodge and American Legion.  He enjoyed playing Yahtzee, card games and watching movies.

Visitation and Services

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2017 at Goodwin Funeral Home, Frankfort.  Friends may visit from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.   Burial will follow at Whiteman Cemetery in Michigantown.
