I think the older we become, the more we reflect and appreciate those who made a positive impact in our lives. Wayne Thies was the ‘Ozzie’ to Beverly’s ‘Harriet’ of our neighborhood, a man who was always there for anyone, day or night, rain or shine. Wayne had a quiet strength, a hearty laugh, and a work ethic like no one I have ever known. He would engage any friend of his children in dialogue, genuinely interested in what they had to say—whether he tried to help us do Trig on his kitchen table or dunk a basketball in his back yard, he made everyone feel at home. The world lost a really good man yesterday. My heart and prayers go out to Beverly, Rodney, Randy, Robin, Rita and all the family.
