Facebook Twitter GoogleI can’t say I’ve met anyone who embodied motherhood quite as did Ginny. She was like a surrogate mom to so many of Craig’s friends. Always an open door. Always eager (or so it seemed to me) to provide a healthy meal. Always pleasant in conversation. Always rooting for the Hot Dogs and for the Boilermakers. Consistently patient with the not-always-sensible behavior of boys. I’m grateful she touched my life.

Facebook Twitter GoogleI can still recall the first time I met Virginia. Craig walked in the door followed by me, and he said “Mom… I want you to meet someone, it’s Brian Seufert, or we just call him SIFE.” She welcomed me by saying “Hello SIFE!, and asked if I was a golfer of which I replied “no, just a swimmer as golf required more skills than I was capable of,” and then she invited me to sit down and join them for dinner. I accepted of course and ate every bite too! She was always so very easy to talk to, like she’s known you your whole life. I know that I’ve visited her with Craig on multiple occasions and several times either when I dropped by looking for Craig and also while Craig was away sometimes, but no-matter the reason I always felt welcomed in her home. I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to meet such a nice and wonderful lady and also to have such a good friend in her son Craig.

Facebook Twitter GoogleTo Craig and Family–My sincere condolences on the loss of your mother. The picture of her with the Purdue greats made me smile as it seemed to capture her spirit, which obviously made Brees laugh. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Facebook Twitter GoogleWe have just learned about Virginia’s passing, and we are sorry that we were not present at the funeral to honor her memory. At important moments in the family’s history, she was always there. Only a few years ago, she faithfully sent cards and notes, buoying her cousin’s spirits through difficult times. Deepest sympathy from the Ankrom Family.

Facebook Twitter GoogleDearest Brothers,
Virginia will always be in my heart. She was always so kind to me when I would come for holidays when I was a little girl and later when our relationship was rekindled when I was an adult. I only wish I had known her longer. Craig and Eric, she will always be there with you in your heart. And the memories you have I know are very special.
Love, Lorrie and Ben
