Victor Dirk Unroe 68 a lifelong Frankfort resident gave up his 3 year battle with cancer, Monday, October 11, 2010 at 5:30 a.m. at home with his family. Born May 31, 1942 to Madeline (Freeman) Unroe, he was lovingly raised by Fred L. and Doris (Everett) Unroe. They all preceded him in death. Dirk was a 1960 graduate of Frankfort High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1962-1964. He retired in 1991 from the Norfolk and Southern Railroad after 31 years of service. He was also self-employed, helping those in need of construction and repairs. He was past member of the Utility Service Board, Frankfort and a working servant of the Woodside Christian Church until he was no longer able. May his life and passing be a comfort to those who knew and loved him, knowing that he is at peace.

Facebook Twitter GoogleMy heartfelt condolences go out to you all. Dirk was a wonderful man and friend to my family. He will truly be missed but never forgotten. His memories will live on in us all forever. I will never forget how he always had wintergreen mints with him in his pocket. He would always offer me one and I was happy to take one. Every time I have one I will think of and remember him and how he loved them.
