Carolyn and Pudge & family;
We are so sorry for your loss. Grammie Marie (as we called her) was a special woman. She was beautiful inside and out and had such a quick wit. But most of all, she cared for and loved our children the way we did – endlessly and unconditionally. She was a great nanny and felt like a member of our family even though she had her own big family and was very proud of them. Thank you for sending us the information about her passing, Carolyn. You are so thoughtful – like mother, like daughter. We just received it tonight and will not be able to be there tomorrow to express our condolences in person. Please accept our long distance sympathies. Thank you also for sharing her with us and never minding when we claimed her as our “Grammy” too.
Sincerely,
Kristin, Nic & kids

Facebook Twitter GoogleKevin, Carolyn & families: Sorry to hear about Vi, she was the most gracious, loving, witty and the most beautiful friend I’ve ever had. I am so sorry for your loss of such a beautiful mother and she could out dress anyone on any day…God needed a beautiful Angel and Vi was the one, how proud you children must have been. Remembering the first time we went to dinner I went as Donna [my dressing] and Vi was the movie star…..I said “Vi, sorry I didn’t know you was dressing up” and of course she caught every eye at Steak and Shake. H.E Smith [an old friend of ours and related to her] took us to Applebees [again she stole the show]. Vi and I shared many good evenings together [whether it be her showing all her pictures of her family]. Proud she was also! Or we had strawberries and cake and just talked of all her happy life. With all that said with LOVE, I will miss her so very much. When she moved to Frankfort I couldn’t find her apt. again [visited her once with H.E Smith] have to say also he thought a lot of her and talked of how classy and beautiful she was. That does mean inside and out. God bless her and hold her in your arms on her journey. She is one “SPECIAL ANGEL” loved by many people [including me]. God Bless each of you also. Prayers, Donna Layton
