Suzanne Jean Sparks, 66, of Frankfort, passed away peacefully August 20, 2017, surrounded by her loving family at Rosewalk Village, Lafayette.  She was born February 26, 1951, in Frankfort, Indiana, to the late Russell and Myrtle (Laverty) Sparks.  She was a 1969 graduate of Frankfort Senior High School. Suzanne was a follower of Christ.  Her employment throughout the years included those in the cleaning, office, and nursing lines of work.

She will be most remembered for her wit, comebacks, sentimentality, socializing, and a love for New York City and Broadway music.

Visitation and Services

Her wishes were to be cremated and to hold a private family celebration of life.

Survived by:

Suzanne is survived by her son Jason (Anna Marie) Disinger of Moran, daughter April (Keith) Tegarden of Lafayette, sisters Janice (Jim) Reno of Frankfort, and Laurie (Larry) Sparks-Sellers of Lafayette. Also her grandchildren Garrett Disinger, Trevor Disinger, and Sierra Disinger all of Moran; Zoe (Alex) Morehouse and Sophia Tegarden, both of Lafayette; and Kristian (Erika) Tegarden, and Kenneth (Brittany) Tegarden, both of Frankfort, one great grandchild Kurt Tegarden of Frankfort; and nephew Don Reno and niece Deb (Jeff) Bracken, both of Frankfort.

    My sincere and heartfelt condolences to Suzanne’s family. Always enjoyed seeing my “69” classmate at the annual hotdog festival. I missed her absence this year, but am so very glad I was able to visit with her for what would be the last time in Lafayette three weeks ago. Her smiling, friendly face will surely be missed.

    My deepest condolences to the Spark, and Disinger Families. Sue was a wonderful person, and I remember her as always having a lovely, contagious smile. While her earthly family and friends grieve, heaven is celebrating.

    So sorry for your loss. Sue was always so kind. She did have those seemingly instant witty comebacks. Someone in our group at McDonald’s said several times that she missed her calling, she should have been a stand up comic. She would have been good at it too. She will be fondly remembered & missed. Rest in peace, Sue. Thoughts & prayers for the family & friends.

    I am very sorry for your loss. Whenever I would see Suzanne she was always pleasant and genuine. Always, kind and caring asking how I was and how the family was.     Suzie was one of a kind and I will truly miss her quirky sense of humor and her laughter. She brought sunshine into everyone’s lives. She lives among the angels now and will brighten their lives as well. RIP Suzanne. My condolences to Laurie and all the family for your loss of this cherished family member.

    So very sorry for your loss. I went to school with Suzanne and unfortunately had not seen her since high school. She still took the time to send me a very nice card at a sad time in my life. She was one of the most thoughtful people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. RIP my friend

    Suzie was always smiling and I loved running into her at McDonald’s. My prayers are with her family that God will give them comfort and peace and wonderful memories to help them during this time. I’m sure she is happy and has received the ultimate joy as she went to be with her Lord.

    I remember Suzie as a kid, she was so much fun to be around. I haven’t seen her in years due to us not being local anymore..but I am certain she remained the same warm, wonderful person she was way back when. Aunt Jan please know we are keeping you in prayer for Christ’s comfort. I will stop by this afternoon and light a candle for Suzie at chapel, and have her name mentioned in Mass on Sunday. God Bless you all and comfort you in your sorrow.
