Dear Maria and Marcia,
Please accept our condolences on the passing of your mother, Sonja. I met your mother when I returned home to the US for a visit a few years ago. My children were working at McDonald’s at the time and your mother would come in every day for coffee. She and I became friendly as I was living abroad and she was from a country abroad. She was one of the most interesting, witty and truly kind person I have ever known. I enjoyed many conversations with her before realizing she was your mother. She spoke of you both often and was so proud of you and her grandchildren. A truly wonderful lady. Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers, God bless.
Regards,

Facebook Twitter GoogleAunt & Cousin Sophie would visit us during the Ukrainian Holidays here in Chicago, Illinois. Sophie always talked so proudly of her daughters and grandchildren. She would pull out pictures and smile and tell us a story behind the photo. We would listen to her reminisce about growing up with her cousins Mike, Donch, Nadia, and her Aunt Anna Skop. Sophie loved the warmth of her aunt’s home and her great cooking. Although, Sophie is not here with us in the physical world we will honor her through our memories and photos of her as she’s done with those she loved so dearly. Our Deepest Sympathies and Spivchutya..

I watched the wonderful video of pictures of your mother I truly enjoyed it. I am so sorry for your loss.I will always remember this kind and sometimes bossy lady. I just did what I was told to do we had, many breakfasts at McDonalds she never would let me buy. I will miss her coming though my kitchen door yelling my name. Never wanting much just small things but important to her. I enjoyed the times we spent we had a lot of laughs and she told many stories to me. I will miss her dearly!! Yours truly Cathy

Facebook Twitter GoogleSonja cared for my grandmother at Wesley Manor for several years. She called Grandma her “golden friend”, it was such a wonderful, endearing term and always made Grandma smile. She continued to visit her until the day before she passed, always bringing her a little treat for her sweet tooth or just something special that reminded her of Grandma. She was such a special friend to my grandmother and our family just loved her. I am so sorry to hear that she is gone. The world, and my life, are better for having had her in them. She was a hard worker and a loyal friend. God Bless her and you, her family, as you grieve her loss. Know that you are not alone in that grief.
