Sarah Elizabeth “Sally” Haskett

February 10, 2022

Sarah Elizabeth “Sally” Haskett, 74, of Westfield, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022.

Sally was born April 5, 1947 in Indianapolis to the late Laurence F. and Dorothy Nance Haskett. A graduate of North Central High School, she earned a marketing degree from Indiana University before entering her career in retail.

A recognizable face to her customers at the CVS at 79th and Fall Creek, Sally spent much of her career navigating her fellow Hoosiers through their retail needs. She worked at several Indianapolis retailers, including L.S. Ayres & Co., Paul Harris, and for more than 20 years at CVS (formerly Osco).

That skill of navigation certainly came from her largest passion, travel. She was proud of her successful quest to visit all seven continents, circling the globe on countless tours to enrich her life with other cultures. She also made regular trips to New York City, immersing herself in Broadway shows and also seeing the Rockettes’ Christmas show at Radio City Music Hall. A thorough collector and photographer, she kept mementos from many of the highlights of her various excursions.

Family: You must be devastated at the loss of Sally. I met her on my first trip to Europe (Swiss Alps), then again on my London/Paris trip, and again on several trips to New York. I was a novice and Sally was a pro; she was traveling w/the help of her parents’ inheritance, as was I (and my husband); we were a perfect pair. We continued our friendship w/movies and lunch dates. I even took her on a road trip w/my church group to Shipshewana (she bought a green hand-made quilt). Whenever my local travels took me to Nora, I always looked for her green Jaguar in the parking lot. Sally was a lovely lady who loved her family; she spoke most highly of all of you. And I know she died knowing she was loved. It was a honor to have known her.

May God comfort you in your sorrow.

      Good evening Sandy,

Thank you for your kind and heartfelt remembrance of my sister. You have shed insight into her travels, some of which I did not know. It sounds like you were great traveling friends and I am sure she enjoyed the time you had together sharing experiences both here and overseas. She will truly be missed and leaves a void in all of our lives.

I cannot express how sorry I am for your loss. Sally was a wonderful lady and I was truly blessed to not only have been her colleague, but to also have been her friend. Working at CVS with Sally the past 6 years was such a joy. I will miss sharing stories of our trips/vacations, discussing restaurants and food, fighting over “our” water flavor (tangerine lime), and all the goofy times we had. Not seeing her face or being able to say, “what’s up, Sarah?,” at work will be difficult, but I will cherish our memories for the rest of my days.

    Rest in peace, Sarah!

      Tyler,
After talking with Danielle and now reading your thoughts, I realize she was a special person to those who worked with her. Given the stressful time in today’s work environment, it is wonderful to know you both were able to share moments of your lives outside of the store. Thank you for your note.

      Tangerine Lime?

      Good afternoon Winifred,

I apologize it took me so long to reply. Thank for your note. I know she enjoyed working with everyone at your store.
