Sara Sue Huffer Crum

Sara Sue Huffer Crum 78, Michigantown, IN, died at 11:20 p.m. April 29, 2013 at the home of her son in Forest. Born September 17, 1934 in Frankfort, IN to Orion B. & Geneva (Pittzenbarger) Huffer. She married Devon Crum on May 29, 1970 and he survives. Mrs. Crum was a 1952 graduate of Michigantown High School. She retired in 1999 from Mellinger/Gangwehr Insurance in Michigantown. She was a member of the Michigantown Methodist Church and volunteered as a Pink Lady at the Clinton County St. Vincent Hospital. Mrs. Crum was an avid bridge player.

Visitation and Services

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the Michigantown United Methodist Church.

Crum of Michigantown, Greg (Jody) Crum of Cloverdale, Mark (companion Bev Eppley) Crum of Michigantown, 1 Step Daughter: Linda L. (Theodore R.) Mossburg of Michigantown, Sister: Belva Rule of Michigantown, Brother: Richard (Sharon) Huffer of Rossville, 11 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Granddaughter

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jana Smith in 1953.

      I am so sorry for your loss. Knowing Sara was knowing joy. She always had a smile and uplifted those around her. There are so many memories of her to cherish from growing up with her as a family friend and neighbor, working with her at the insurance agency and seeing her at church. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

    Our sincere condolences to all of Sara’s family, especially Devon, Dick and Belva. We had intended to join you today, but the flu bug has changed our plans. We have great memories of our friendship over the years and will treasure them. Please know that we care.

    My prayers and thoughts go to the family of Sara. I remember Sara growing up in Michigantown. Her sister, Belva was Dad’s secretary at the elevator and Sara sometimes worked at the elevator too. I always thought she was a real nice person.
