Sapopa ‘Sophia’ Ruiz

Sapopa “Sophia” Ruiz 79 of Frankfort, died at 8:24 a.m. at the home of her daughter in Attica on December 10, 2010 following an extended illness. Born March 31, 1931 in Eagle Pass, TX to the late Nicholas & Isabelle (Garcia) De LaCruz. She married Alvino G. Ruiz Sr. on May 18, 1950 in Nebraska and he preceded her in death on February 20, 2010. Mrs. Ruiz moved to Clinton County in the 1960’s. She was a homemaker and also worked at Essex Wire in Flora, IN and Peter Paul in Frankfort. She was a member for many years at the New Life in Christ Ministries.

Visitation and Services

Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Monday, December 13, 2010 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Zion Apostolic Tabernacle, Frankfort, IN. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park. Donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Research, envelopes will be available.

Survived by:

2 Daughters: Irma Martin (Chuck) of Frankfort and Diana Mullinax (Lucky) of Attica 4 Sons: Al Ruiz Jr. (Julie) of Loves Park, IL, Mario Ruiz Sr. (Veronica) of Frankfort, Jesse Ruiz Sr. (Valerie) of Frankfort and Juan Ruiz She was one of eleven children and several brothers and sisters survive. 29 Grandchildren and 46 Great Grandchildren
