Sandra L. Vaughn, 52, of Rossville, Ind., died 12:43 p.m. January 4, 2021 at her home.  She was born June 24, 1968 in Frankfort, Ind. to Gene Spurling & Darleen (Hiatt) Earl.  She married Rick E. Vaughn on July 4, 1995 and he survives.

Sandra was a 1986 graduate of Clinton Central High School and graduated with honors from Indiana University School of Nursing.  She was a lifelong resident of Clinton County.  A registered nurse, she worked at Franciscan Health Lafayette East.  Sandra was passionate about her work and loved her family dearly.

Visitation and Services

With respect to the circumstances facing our nation at this time, the Vaughn family plans to have a Celebration of Life at a later date and is most appreciative of your thoughts and prayers. Memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 11550 N. Meridian, Suite 115, Carmel, IN 46032.

Survived by:

Husband: Rick E. Vaughn of Rossville, Daughter: Kalyn Vaughn of Rossville, Son: Bryce Vaughn of Rossville, Brother: Kim (Penny) Spurling of Frankfort, Brother-in-Law: Ronnie (Margie) Vaughn of Frankfort, Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceded by:

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, stepfather, Bob Earl and nephew Brett Vaughn.

    I will always cherish the times I spent with my friend Sandra. From the moment we met I knew we would be fast friends. I will remember her sense of humor and especially her laugh. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. My heart goes out to Bryce (Bruce…. lol) Kalyn, and Rick. Her spirit will always be with us. Goodbye my friend. I love you.

    I graduated high school in the same class as she. We were friends who shared a love of 1980s hair band heavy metal. This makes me sad. Too young. Way too young. Fly high and rock on, my friend. You shall be missed.

    Ron we are so sadden to receive the news of Sandra’s passing. She was always smiling when we saw her and always kind. I (Gina) remember as kids we would run and play in her backyard, her mom was always nice to us. Please know we are thinking of you and pray your memories hold you fast during these days ahead.

    Oh my gosh. I’m sending my condolences to Sandra’s entire family. What an amazing gal. I met Sandra at IU Health and always loved working with her. She had a way of making things fun! I remember her speaking about her love for her children. I’m sure Sandra will be missed by many.
