Robert Lee Plass, 78, former Frankfort resident, and of Delphi, Ind., died January 29, 2023 at home, peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by his family. He was born March 16, 1944 in Indianapolis, Ind. to the late Robert Cecil & Lois (Burress) Plass. His marriage of 46 years was to Jennifer Stingley on April 24, 1976 at the Mars Hill Baptist Church, Indianapolis and together they enjoyed traveling, attending their grandkids activities, going out to eat, craft shows and antiquing. Jennifer selflessly took care of Bob during the last years of his life. He was previously married to Marcia (Reynolds) Wood.
Bob was a 1962 graduate of Lebanon High School, where he played basketball. He had lived in Lebanon until 1977, Frankfort from 1977-2014 before moving to Delphi. He was a Union IUOE #103-member, Heavy Equipment Operator for 42 years, working the majority of his time with Milestone Contractors, retiring in 2006. In 2008, he worked for the City of Frankfort as Street & Park Superintendent for four years. Bob was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was active in the Knights of Columbus, and was known as “Bingo Bob”. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge. In Bob’s early years, he enjoyed playing softball, baseball, also playing poker with his buddies on Monday nights and was a NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed the many family gatherings shared, which always included food, cards and games. Bob’s greatest joy was his grandchildren.
