Bob was one of a kind. I think of him often and I will never forget him. In fact, out of the total blue I decided to google him today and found he had just passed. (He was probably breathing hard behind my back)
His legacy is probably much broader than is realized. 25 years ago Bob took it upon himself to school this inexperienced social worker with lesson after lesson that have served me well in my career. I am just one of many of Bob’s students who have fanned out across Indiana and beyond. I have many memories of both the frustration and genuine entertainment he provided. For Bob I seemed to be both villain and hero and it made for a dicey relationship at times, but it provided an invaluable lesson in boundaries. One of Bob’s great regrets was missing the Beatles perform. He loved their music and would often put on his wig and play their songs. I have a much cherished picture of Bob in his wig, grinning, and sitting with the gang at the Counseling Center. I would like to dedicate “Let it be” to Bob. Hope you have found peace.
