Robert L. Chester Jr. 70, of Hillisburg, IN, died December 30, 2012 in Clinton County. Born July 2, 1942 in Hillisburg, IN to Robert L. Chester Sr., and Arie E. Crick Chester. He married Bonnie E. Bray on June 14, 1968 in Frankfort and she preceded him in death on June 26, 2003. Mr. Chester attended Clinton Central and Scircleville Schools and was a lifelong Clinton County resident. He was in the National Guard for over 6 years. Mr. Chester was a construction worker and a skilled carpenter and worked for Rohn for 10 years. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and Eagles Lodge. He enjoyed karaoke at the VFW, loved radio controlled airplanes and helicopters, was a collector of many things and especially enjoyed his time with family and friends, dancing and singing.

Visitation and Services

Services will be 12 Noon on Friday, January 4, 2013 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bunnell Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Clinton County Cancer Fund.

Daughter: Michelle Chester of rural Clinton County Son: Scott (Racheal Lisby) Chester of Hillisburg 5 Grandchildren: Nathan Chester of rural Clinton County, Zackary Chester, Jolene Coffman, Rory Chester and Abby Chester all of Hillisburg 3 Sisters: Martha Dobson and Frances (Harry) Surber and Liz Thieke all of Forest 2 Brothers: Gobel Chester of Forest and Beckum (Betty) Chester of Missouri Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie, parents, 1 son, Heath Chester and 12 brothers and sisters.

    My deepest sympathy to Scott & Michelle for the loss of their dad. I will be keeping all of the family in my prayers at this tragic time. May God give you strength in the days ahead and strength as a family to get through this together. I apologize I am out of state and won’t be able to attend the services. Please know that I care about each and everyone of you and you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

    Scott and Michelle my heart goes out to you both. I am so sorry for the loss of your Dad. To all of Robert’s brothers and sisters I am also very sorry. I know Robert loved his family very much and this will be hard on you all. My prayers will be with you all. Love Pam

    It’s been many years, but I remember Robert, as I lived around the corner from the Chester family
    in Hillisburg. So very sorry to learn of your loss and I send my heartfelt sympathy to the entire family.
