Richard Ehrmann 85 of Frankfort, IN, died at 9 a.m. Friday, April 2, 2010 at Wesley Manor. Born February 10, 1925 in West Amana, IA to Fritz & Ida Lina (Schonfelder) Ehrmann. He married Leona Zuber on June 15, 1947 and she preceded him in death on October 5, 2007. Mr. Ehrmann received a Bachelors of Science in Organic Chemistry & Chemical Engineering from Iowa State College. He was a chemical engineer at Cargill, and was superintendent of Northeast Minneapolis Cargill Plant. He worked for Cargill for 32 years, retiring in 1983. After retirement he was a self-employed custom cabinet maker. He lived in West Amana and Ames, Iowa, San Mateo, California, N.E. Minneapolis, MN, Bloomington, MN, and in 2004, moved to Frankfort. A veteran of the Army Air Corps, he served for 2 years and 6 months as Private 1st Class. Mr. Ehrmann was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Princeton, Minnesota. Other memberships include; Princeton Golf Course, Amana Society, and St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Bloomington, MN. He delivered Meals on Wheels in Princeton, MN, was an avid golfer and woodworker.

Visitation and Services

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at Wesley Manor Chapel, Frankfort, IN. Jake Fisher will officiate. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until time of service at the Manor. Burial will be in Bunnell Cemetery, Frankfort, IN. Memorial donations may be made to the Wesley Manor Good Samaritan Fund, envelopes will be available.

    My thoughts and prayers are with Dick and his family. Dick was my first boss at Cargill. A very inspirational person with great love of life. I have many good memories of those days.
