Richard E. Cole

Richard E. Cole 80, Frankfort, IN, died at 6:41 p.m. December 11, 2012 at I.U. Arnett Health in Lafayette. Born February 1, 1932 in Frankfort, IN to the late Ernest D. & Veda M. (Kessler) Cole. He married Maribelle Toney and they divorced. He married Linda Alter on August 22, 1992 and she survives. Mr. Cole was a 1950 graduate of Frankfort High School and was a lifelong Clinton County resident, spending his entire life on the family farm. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served from May 8, 1953-May 2, 1955. Mr. Cole was a farmer and also worked at Eli Lilly, retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Community Christian Church, the Moose Lodge #7 where he was past governor and a member of the ritual team, was an Eagle Scout and Scout Master and volunteer for Troop 338 and was a school bus driver for the Community Schools of Frankfort. He served as Santa Claus for the city of Frankfort for over a decade. Mr. Cole enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing, antique dealing and spending summers in Michigan.

Visitation and Services

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday, December 14th from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bunnell Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Moose Heart Charities or Parkview Home.

Cole of Frankfort 4 Grandchildren, 5 Step Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren
