He was such a father figure to me during my teenage years. He showed love and kindness to me which I’d never experienced before. I pray I can show others that love as well. He will always be “Dad Meek” in my heart. The world lost a man of God…. all of heaven is rejoicing for a soul who’s come home……..

I’m sorry to hear that Jim passed but thankful he is with the Lord and his parents. I’ve known Jim since childhood. Their farm was just a mile north of ours. We were friends of the family. His father lead our cottage prayer meetings. I attended Frankfort Pilgrim College when he was there although I was younger.

Condolences to the family and friends of Rev. Jim Meek. When I was working at Cummins Engine Company in Columbus, Indiana. After I was converted, I started talking to my fellow employees about it and they told me I should talk to a (As they put it) the “Holy Roller preacher that works in the service department”. It turned out to be Rev. Russel Meek Jim’s father a pastor in the Pilgrim Holiness Denomination with the same doctrine as the the Wesleyan Methodist Church I attended. The two denominations later merged to become the Wesleyan Church. Brother Meek was a great blessing to me in our lunch time at work. He transferred out for a better job. About that time a new person transferred in. Someone told that he was Rev. Meek’s son. The job I had was a class six, but it was transferred to another department. They decided to keep me without a class six for me so I helping class five. They called me in the office because they thought they would be in trouble with union. They assigned me to help the other class six, which happened to be Jim, although he didn’t need any help. Jim was not a Christian at that time. I would talk about the Lord once and a while Jim talked about -surprise surprise- coon dogs and coon hunting. But according to Jim it was when I bowed my head and gave The Lord the thanks for my food the Lord started talking to heart, no doubt due also his former trading in the home. He was called to preach and somehow he and his family found their way to Frankfort Pilgrim where I was a student with my family there also. That when I found that God works in a factory. Keep praying.

God has received a wonderful Angel. I always called him Grandpa Meek. During my teenage years they took me into their home and raised me, before I went to college at Union Bible Seminary. Left a huge impact on my life.
Forever grateful for the love, kindness and support. It will truly be missed.

Jim you will be greatly missed by myself and my family. You were important to us. We had many wonderful hunts running our walker hounds. Some of the talks we had are still with me today. You were a man of God. Though I let you and others down, you still reached out to me. You were the real deal.
